7 C-Days

a series of 72 digital photographs, c-prints, 50 x 37.5 cm, 2008

C-Day is short for "Candy Day" which usually means when deployment for an operation commences. It is called "Candy Day" because before deployment candy is usually passed out to G.I.s from charitable organizations. (wikipedia)

7 C-Days is a series of digital images rendering the same slit-scan source material as 24-7 into photographs: A long-term approach that examines the horizon of the sea for a full week. The 12 daylight hours are mounted in parallel under each other thus resulting in 72 prints of 10 minutes each - or one very long image of 36 meters.
